Steve studied physics and then taught the sciences, sociology, and maths from basic numeracy to foundation degree level at a college in Bristol for many years. More recently, he took a doctorate in History of Ideas, from North-West University in South Africa. He maintains the All of Life Redeemed directory of resources in Reformational philosophy.
Clare holds a PhD in History of Science from the University of Leeds and works in digital education at the University of Leeds. Previously, she was a freelance botanist and vegetation ecologist for 12 years and established an environmental education and training consultancy. She holds a PCGE for higher education and a MSc in plant science.
Paul holds a PhD in History of Technology from the University of Leeds. He is the 'Faith at the Margins' lead for the Leeds Church Institute. He is on probation as a Methodist Local Preacher and co-organises a Repair Café community project from an east Leeds church.
Sareen is Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science at Leeds Beckett University, and previously held posts at the University of Liverpool, University of Texas Medical Branch, and Trinity College Dublin. She teaches modules on microbes, pharmacology and infectious diseases, and her research focuses on viruses that infect people and animals. She is a Methodist Local Preacher.
Richard is a Senior Lecturer in statistics at the University of Winchester. He has a background in biological sciences and interests in history and philosophy of science. He has published more than 20 articles in areas including ecology, agriculture, policy evaluation and philosophy of science. He is a member and occasional preacher at St Mary's Church Portchester, on the shores of Portsmouth Harbour. Richard also directs the Faith-in-Scholarship project at Thinking Faith Network.
David’s career as a consultant surgeon included senior lectureship at the University of Leeds. Formerly General Secretary of the International Association for Reformed Faith and Action, he has maintained links with Christian scholars in many disciplines around the world. He has been secretary and trustee of Thinking Faith Network, which was co-founded by his wife Ruth. He is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Leeds.
Tim is Director of Training and Discipleship at Emmanuel Church, Brighton. His first degree was in Computer Science and he holds a PhD in the public theology of Abraham Kuyper - a figure who inspires our approach at Church Scientific.
Mark Roques is a Christian philosopher and storyteller. As Director of RealityBites he has spoken in schools, churches and conferences worldwide. He has authored four books and many articles for the Baptist Times, RE Today, Youthscape, Direction magazine and the Christian Teachers Journal. Mark is a regular preacher at Cragg Hill Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church, Leeds.
